The Special Need’s Department is designed as an INTEGRATED PROGRAM, which includes a variety of exceptionalities in all classes. Exceptionalities are as follows: Learning Disabilities (LD), Behavioral Disordered (BD), Intellectual Disordered, Other Health Impaired (OHI), Speech, and Visually Impaired.
This department strives to provide individualized support for all students with disabilities, alone with modifications and accommodations to ensure their success. Also, the program provides a variety of Placement Options, which is a continuum of options to the Least Restrictive Environment that fits the student’s skills and ability levels. The placement options are Regular Classes, Consultative Classes (monitoring a student in a regular setting, twice a month), Team Taught or Collaborative Teaching (regular class with two teachers), and Self-Contained Classes (small setting).
